Precision Planting®
Stage 1: Notched wheels work to aggressively close the seed furrow from the bottom to the top, eliminating air pockets.
Stage 2: Stitch wheels carry weight on them to firm the soil over the seed to retain moisture, allowing for quick and consistent germination. The stitch wheels also set the depth at which the first stage cuts, ensuring that each seed has good seed to soil contact.
FurrowForce can be added to your planter as a mechanical system and can be used with the 20|20 monitor to automate closing. From the cab, the operator sets how much firming force the second stage wheels apply to the soil, and a load cell measures the weight on the second stage stitch wheels. If the sensor sees more or less weight than the operator has set, FurrowForce automatically adjusts the force, row by row, to overcome the variability that you are encountering, so your seeds can germinate consistently. Stop guessing and start knowing your pressuring setting is correct on your closing system. With FurrowForce, the most common comment that farmers have when digging behind the planter is, "I can't find the furrow."
