Iowa State University's Women in Ag Program hosts several educational opportunites throughout the state. Key Cooperative encourages the participation of our member-owners in these events. This year, Women in Ag is hosting the Annie's Project Farm Business Management Course in Ames.
"Annie’s Project is the agricultural business education program that empowers farm women who want to be even more knowledgeable about their agricultural enterprises. Course participants will learn effective strategies to make good decisions in the five key risk management areas of: financial, human resources, legal, marketing, and production. Annie’s Project creates a comfortable and supportive learning environment focused on the best farm business management practices." ISU Women in Ag

The Annie's Project Course will take place in 6 sessions at the Story County Extenson Office in Ames. Session dates include:
"This course gives women the knowledge and confidence to improve farmland leasing and access practices, adopt new conservation systems, and design more efficient land transitions to next generation farmers. Women will learn where to access research-based information to assist them in decision making. They’ll gain insights on how to improve communication around the farmland with family members, partners and tenants. The course is taught in the tradition of Annie’s Project and incorporates a comfortable and supportive learning environment." ISU Women in Ag

The Women Managing Farmland Course will take place in 3 sessions at the Mahaska County Extension Office in Oskaloosa. Session dates include:
"This three- or four-session course is designed for women of all ages and experience levels who want to know more about the key economic decisions for corn and soybean production. The sessions take a seasonal approach and cover the decision making for soil and tillage management, seed selection and planting considerations, pesticide management, and machinery, harvesting and storage considerations. This course is taught in the tradition of Annie’s Project and incorporates a comfortable and supportive learning environment." ISU Women in Ag
